Currently watching a wrecker crew load up a 3524 Cat that decided to jump off a flatdeck.

    2015 John Deere 50g
It's been a great machine and has really impressed me so far, powerful, smooth, quiet as a church mouse and really easy on fuel.

In 4 days of off and on loading all that dirt, it's used 1/4 of it's 15 gallon tank.

That's my buddies old 77' wrecker Hauling it for me.
It's about 11,000lbs full of fuel.

I love those little excavators. That one Yanmar powered or Deere powered?

Nice! I couldn't tell if it was a mini or not but I looked at your original pic again and seen the rubber tracks.

I would love to have one of those here on the farm. I think it would be handy as heck.

They're pretty sweet machines. I like the Deere/Hitachi mini ex better than the CAT to be honest.

It's my fall back plan, I have zero interest in truckin' with Elogs...I'd like to get a few paid off older trucks going with drivers and myself driving while I do the excavating on the side or pay my dad to do it...until the day comes where old iron isn't welcome on the highway anymore.

If it never happens then it will probably stay a side gig.

In a perfect world I would have an old R model tandem with a low side 15' bed, a newer big high track skid steer, and some real classy old iron mated to an old lowboy to haul them with...like a B model mack or something old school.

I LOVE old trucks, prefer newer equipment.

Of course that's just me dreaming... but still.

Finally put the truck to bed for the night and came in the house. Seems to run a lot smoother the longer it ran. 30 psi of oil pressure hot idle. 50 at cruise 1500 rpm at 75 mph. Tomorrow is gonna tell the tale
