@Rontonio I was here today (yesterday). Looked all over the place for you. Left with a D-6K. I have never seen so many different numbered excavators, 390, 349 336 329 325 320. What is the world coming to? When I started hauling equipment, Cat had 4 excavators in their line up. 215, 225, 235, 245.

    (story time)

Buddy of mine calls me on the phone...

"Hey Six. I got a load going from Birmingham, Alabama to FairbanksAK.!"

    $30000.

    "What?"

$30000. That's how much I'd want to do that run.

    "Oh..."

Oh???? How much did they get you for?

    "Ummm, $9900..."

Are you insane? You're not going to make any money!

"I always wanted to go to Alaska. If I just make $100 on that load, I am satisfied."

$100 for two and a half weeks? Do you know the difference between a truck driver and a tourist?

    "Ummm, no."

A truck driver get paid to travel. Tourists don't. You want to be a tourist, rent a car.

Bob I couldn't tell you, the farthest we're going to haul them is usually within a couple hundred miles. Once in a while a load will go from here to North Platte, NE about 600 miles.

Looking at the trucks yesterday it's a miracle they don't have breakdowns. Some of that stuff looks like it came from a junkyard. Not one name brand tire on anything and none of the tread patterns matched. Air leaks you could hear over idling trucks and a pen full of cows.

The cowboys told me my truck looked too nice to be hauling cows.
