248 was the last count I heard. As for the loads in Knoxville, I'm pretty sure that was Bill, Tom and Jeremy headed to Florida, 2 T-800's and one T-680 with 6 pilots from Oklahoma. If there was a 4th and 5th, not part of the same run so I wouldn't know who was in them or where they're headed.

So let’s hear your opinion, you’ve driven the T800 for a few months and the 680 before for a while. Which do you like better?

I definitely saw 3 oversized my count on the other 2 may have been off. That whole parking lot was a cluster. Wasn't sure how they were going to get out.

I know exactly what your feeling, hasn't been a day go by in the past 2 1/2 months where I don't ask myself the same thing. Did I give up on a good thing, did I make the right choice, was there something I should have done different and so on. I'll admit that there are nights when I miss the king sized bed, the dachshund taking up all of it, the real bathroom right through the next door, the person sleeping next to me.........

It'll take some time for those thoughts to stop but I always think the future will be better than the past and push on.

The 680 definitely has more room, our 800's are mid roof so there's no walking between the seats, it's a narrow cab like all 660's, 800's and 900's. I love the more classic and utilitarian look of the 800, love the room and storage the 680 has.

As for driving, the 800 rides like a truck, the 680 not so much, more a cushy ride like a Volvo. Driving down the road, really hard to compare because we run 385's on the front of the 800's so they climb all over in the ruts. Keeps you on your toes, can't relax and let the steers follow the groove.

So it's a give and take. If I were given the keys to each and told I could have either one, I'd take the 800 as it's a better fit for what we do.

Interesting, I can see in a sleeper configuration the head room and room between the seats. I’m obviously from a daycab world, I know a lot of guys driving 880’s and in a daycab they have less storage. My unscientific polling I find most drivers preferred the 800 over the 880 but it’s not their choice. My good friend came out of a T8 into an 880 and he said it rattles and squeaks terrible.

I personally love the T800 it’s my favorite truck on the road. I like the W9 but it’s just not practical in my line of work.

Very well could have been more, we have OD's all over the place every day. I've woke up next to another one of our trucks with an OD more than once.

In my opinion (phone tried to swipe illusions so that tells you what my opinion is worth) the 800's and 900's are drivers trucks. The 680's and to some extent 880's are new technology and probably appeal more to the younger, newer generation of drivers.
