Yeah, I know, it’s Melton...

I was told point blank. “You will overtighten the chains with ratchet binders.”

Company wide policy. You’ll get written up if you have anything other than snaps.

 

You keep them lubed it won’t be a problem, some days I’ll tighten my binders 50 times and have never had to put something in the chain to keep it from twisting.

 

Wowwwww. Things that make ya go huh.

LOL they got that backwards I believe. I've even seen a couple shippers that require ratchets, won't load if you have to use even one snap binder cause they don't want their stuff bent all to heck.

 

Yeah and wait till one of those Melton fellas gets smacked in the mouth or gets his arm yanked outta socket when he releases the snap binder.

 

That's the key.......using them a lot. Ours might sit in the lowboy for a month without use. We lube them every time we use them now.

Speaking of which, the boy is off elk hunting, so I get a turn in the old truck.
