Lol,jeez that will really bore you. Small family farm,as old fashioned as it gets, little over a hundred acres. Always one family Guernsey milk cow,my job before and after school, milking her,and then her daughter, etc.,we had chickens, our own beef. Dad didn't like hogs, none of them.
Not enough on the farm for multi incomes,so I trucked, but I loved the farm, and loved my parents and helping out.Only surviving son, still have 3 sisters. Grew a little corn and hay like most. Mom and dad lived through the depression,3 families to one household, tough times. Dad was a proud combat vet of WWII,worked on the farm into his 90's,still driving a car and tractors at 96,passed away at 97,3 years ago. Mom made it to 94,they were married 75 years. Both of theirs final wishes were to spend their last days on the farm. My sisters and I made that possible,we took good care of them, was with them both at the farm when they took their last breath.
Dad had an off farm job like most, mom grew a huge magnificent garden, canned everything on the planet. And she shot every groundhog within miles of her garden,.22 magnum Mossberg. You just didn't screw with moms veggies. Miss the hell out of her food and cooking. Really miss my dad,he was a tough old bird,my true hero.
Told you it would be boring.IH Truck Guy, 7-UP, cke and 26 others Thank this.
