Where is everyone #5

I'm one of those people that's always looking for a better way. When I see open deck trucks, I look at the truck setup, the securement...because they may have a better way of doing things than I do. We should always be trying to improve, right?
I had a cop follow me into a truckstop restaurant to look at my guns on my motorcycle trip. We were sitting at a lunch counter talking guns when I noticed how he carried his blade. I carried a Boker folding Karambit at the time, and he had a fixed blade scout carry on his left. He explained why. Made sense to me. I saw my first Whiteknuckler in the display case at a motorcycle shop. Another biker saw it and looked at it. As soon as I saw it, I wanted it. I was hoping he would turn it down when the owner told him the price. The owner bought the blade and put it on his right side, vertical carry and didn't like it, and decided to sell it. I noticed the leather sheathe could carry either way. I gave him what he wanted for the knife, took my belt off and put the blade on left side scout carry. The owner's eyes lit up, "I didn't think about that! I like that!" Well, I had to tell him about that cop.

I'm still fairly new to the bike. Being on the bike is the exact opposite as being in the truck. You know how these people talk about their dash cams and who's at fault and who had the right of way and stuff? You don't think that way on a bike. So, I look for videos on packing and tools and how to's and rides and restaurants and EDC on motorcycles. And then I see nonsense like that motorcycle video. I was posting mainly for lurkers and new ones that have questions about guns and self defense.

 

Knife, gun, ball bat, wrenches, binders. They are all tools. Like you said placement is key. I have everything placed in a easy accessable location that fits me.

See, that's what I look for...not the having, its the placement, your setup. Everyone has a different setup, everyone has a different reason for their setup. To me, that's the fascinating part.

 

You should have asked if anyone can spot the difference between those two pictures.
