Grandpas 1962 Reo. Not sure on year but he had transplanted A Big Al into it and a air shift 16speed on loan from spicer. Later wrecked by a drunk driver. Claimed to run well over 100mph
On the left grandpas replacement Green K100 glider kit that he installed the Big Al into, later to give up due to crank problems, replaced with a 400 Cummins, And Dads Blue 1974 K100

I went back to work in Aug full time cuz the lowbed & end dump drivers got canned for fighting on the job. The lobed driver had installed some brackets with 1" pins at the front of the fifth wheel, left & right side, to make the plate solid for pulling the end dump. The 5th wheel release handle comes out, turns forward, then turns inward, but the inward length was about 8" long. No problem til the guy put the brackets in place. When the 5th wheel locked, the handle COULD have hit the bracket and not closed. After a couple weeks back on this truck, I never had it hit the brackets, but was thinkin I need to shorten that section about 4-5". One day on the rock plant scale while waiting for my weight ticket, I looks over at the 5th wheel and see the adjusting nut about 1-1.5" out away from the plate!! S%#$!. This was my 2nd load of the day. Checked the jaws, closed. Pulled off the scale and released and relocked the 5th wheel. End of the day I pulled right up to the shop and cut off 4" of the handle. I just plain missed it that morning when I hooked up to the end dump. The jaws had to only be 1/2" from the end of the yoke. Flat scared the #### out of me and made me think, maybe I SHOULD retire for good. Those brackets should never have been put there in the first place as they would not let the plate tip forward more than 1" even with the pins out!
