@Logan76 I reread your post and then saw the words 'on the internet'. Where's my sign? That is a fine lookin' Pete.
There is a man here in south GA who can put a 444 together that will run and live. I never drove one but I sure would have liked to.
Done with the peanut gig. Lying dispatchers in control of my income. I can't deal with that. I'm looking at another 5 state southeast hopper deal. -
@wore out Since you are on here, in your opinion what is an ideal all around size hopper? I am considering something like maybe 44x102x78. So far I have found that hopper sizes can be somewhat regional. Don't get too tall or it won't fit in cement silo facilities as seen in some parts of the central US. I am thinking of renting until I see how it goes.

I think a 43x78x102 is probably the most versatile. Reason I say 43 is according to the salesman at Memphis trailer sales the 43 ft have longer doors that will touch if you open both all the way at the same time. For the hard unloads that could help. I got rid of my 84 102 because I was having trouble at a couple places with clearance. Course if you haul many ground rice hulls or wheat midds it takes the 84 102 to get a 25 ton load. The salesman over at Memphis also said that the 43 78 102 had as much cubic ft capacity as the 42 84 102. But I haven't loaded one so I hate to say it's gospel. So far I haven't had any trouble getting by with this 42x78x96 Wilson I bought earlier this year.
I could give you a shout on the next sand hauling adventure we go off on if you want. The bunch we pull them for pays the minute they get the BOLS whether it's in the mail or carried by hand.4mer trucker, 7-UP, Hurricane69 and 11 others Thank this. -
Thanks. I had never heard of sand hauling until I got on here. I had hoped to drop down to meet you but the dispatchers and other bs prevented that. I would love to see and hear your recent rebuild. No Jakeing power is certainly a major pitfall for an older CAT. I'll be in touch.
