So Every Saturday night the clubs are pretty busy, and we would go post up there to keep the riff raff down. My sergeant and I are standing by the club door and there’s about 100 people waiting to get in. This one particular patron thought he would try to be cool, stands outside the line and is talking loud.

I was pretty much ignoring him, talking to Sarge, and then he flicks a cigarette down on the ground. Sarge says “hey man, pick that up. Don’t be littering right here in front of us”. The guy says ok, and picks it up. Sarge keeps talking to someone, and I am just hanging by the door. Mr. Cool tries to play tough, and says “I’ll pick up it up, that’s cool. But if I wanted to run, y’all couldn’t catch me. I run a 4.4 in the 40”. I’m going to play college ball.

I just kinda scoff and say whatever, man. He keeps mumbling and then says “and if I wanted to break my foot off in yalls ###, you couldn’t do nothing about that either.(right in front of this crowd of people). I guess that didn’t set too well with me, and I got “triggered” as the millennials say. I walked up to Mr. Cool wearing sunglasses at midnight and said “you need to learn when to shut your mouth”, then I was double triggered when he sized me up and said “Alright Bruh”.

My memory fades as to what happens next (ahem) but he ends up slammed face first into the gravel, split down the center of his forehead, nose and mouth. Put him in the car and I walk back to the door, Sarge asks what happened, I explain what he said. Sarge says good job. The crowd of 100 is now completely gone, I suppose I kind of killed the mood.

So I am standing there, checking myself to make sure I don’t have cuts or scrapes and I hear a voice. This man sitting down in a chair next to me timidly says “Excuse me officer I have a question?” I said “Yes sir?” He says “I am from New Orleans.” I say ok. He says “Am I going to be able to go home tonight?” He is just as serious as can be. (I’m trying not to laugh) So I say yes sir, i don’t have a problem with you being here at all. But I won’t listen to anyone threaten me.

Get in the car and Mr. Cool says “I did not expect to get my ### kicked like that tonight!” We walk in the jail, him dripping blood from hairline to chin and it’s like the jukebox stopped. Everyone is staring inmates and jailers alike. A coworker walks by and says “what happened to him?” I said “oh, he was just running his mouth”. He says “betcha won’t do that again huh?” Mr. Cool hangs his head and says “No Sir”.

The moral of the story is smoking can be bad for your health.

That is great! I'm always for the ### clown getting what is deserved! Look Ive been the guy always against the grain. But you always treat LEO with respect. Now if they don't respond to that it is a different story. But that's not every LEO. I have met some really great guys.

They have the gun, the badge and more importantly the pen!!! I always give them respect until they don't deserve it even then I'm very careful about what I say!!
