Not trying to be a prick, but don’t do that. It’s bad enough to get stuck. Get it unstuck. You would have to put iron on 1 wheel (one of them that’s spinning) and easy on the throttle and you should be free.

PITA to put iron on a wheel that’s already stuck...

Is there a trick that I’m not understanding? By the time the wheel rotates with the chain it tends to simply get caught on the rocks and fall off...

    All I’m saying...

    Are your steers dug in?

Just grab a chain off the rack and have one of the trucks rolling around the lot with a trailer give you a tug.

Welcome to Washington and the EPA garbage up there, they had to do some sort of special drainage on the lot which has created an issue for bobtails in certain parts of the yard. The concrete on the trailer pads is some special stuff that water flows through instead of running off and costs exponentially more per square foot that regular concrete so that's the reason for mostly gravel.

The up side, you can go around to the other side of the building and there's an awesome patio back there with a fire pit and might still be a grill out if they haven't put it away for winter. There's a craft brewery within walking (crawling) distance and the next door neighbor, well as a DOT CDL holder, you cannot sample what they are making LOL. And finally, GrubHub delivers to the yard, you just have to meet them at the gate when it's closed.

My advice, make nice with one of the office people and you might be able to score wheels while your in town. I'd offer you the use of the one vehicle I have left in Washington but it's a Chevy Luv with a 383 small block and aside from drawing way too much attention when wheeling around, it's not insured and the tabs are expired.

You should have two wheels spinning, one on each axle with the inter axle diff locked. Use your foot to dig out a little in front of the two spinning and just jam the first 2-3 bars of the chain down in there with your winch bar and very gently power out. No need to actually hang the iron, as soon as you get up out of the holes you should be able to pull onto the concrete.

    @stwik

    if you haven't tried yet:

Dump the airbags. Sometimes it will transfer just enough weight to another wheel.

If you carry a bottle jack use it to lift high enough to put a chain on. (Bottle jack can also save your bacon in other ways with open deck freight. Get one if you don't have it)

Back to the jist of the thread, made it all the way to Jasper, TN today. Put down 661 miles in 10 hours and 49 minutes. I DON'T WORK THIS HARD!! I'm used to doing 300-400 miles tops every other day or two, not 600+ in one day, this is for the birds!! I can't count the number of times today I put my left signal on and drove for a mile or more waiting on my non-existent rear pilot to let me know I was clear left. I'd finally concentrate on my mirror and realize there was a highway back there not some big piece of a load, I actually had to clear my own lane change, again this is for the birds LOL.

    Nothings dug but the drives...

It’s solid compact up by the steers.

I’ve tried chaining. I’ve tried booting a smooth path and hoping for it to gently roll one way or another. Nothing.

Chains doesn’t do squat. Just falls off with the tire rotation before grabbing underneath. And believe me.... I’ve used bungees. Even tried a one inch strap...

Yeah I’ll just wait till Monday.

Believe it or not I got stuck last weekend before I left... was able to do the “baby rock” and free myself. Was just trying to park tonight in line with the rest and could just feel myself sink. Similar to my debacle in a truck stop in Texas with my 660. You can just feel the truck literally sink itself and before you know it.... Fawk.

    Gmmmmm. I’ll dump the air.

I don’t have a jack. But that sounds like a good idea. It seems to be my driver side rear that’s deepest. With the PDL lock that’s the one that spins. Tried a chain there and on my pass side front. Nothing.
