Oh I believe there’s a way... it just involves a chain and a forklift :D:p

I’ll figure it out myself. Eventually.

Yeah, but we/I want you to figure it out now, lol.

I'd never be able to go to sleep or do anything else until I got unstuck from where you are, but that's just me or my OCD.

Guess I'll go to bed then, lol.

Believe me...if I wasn’t in a company yard ten feet from concrete I’d be getting myself dirty tonight until my last resort phone call...

But I’m not in one of those situations. I’ll sleep... a bit... until I google the billion methods of getting outta this mess...

This is really a great time to learn. You're in a safe place and don't have any time pressure. Every time I've been stuck it was the opposite, bad spot and need to be moving, not trying to extricate myself from a bad situation.

My solution would be to get my shovel (you do have a shovel, right?), and get as much of that gravel crammed under and in front of the spinning wheels as I could. Then wedge the end of the chain in between the tire and gravel and hammer it down in. Leave the rest laid out in front of the tire.

Now this is where (pay attention you sissy auto lovers), the auto shift kills you, but maybe not. Putting the truck into 4th gear, which it probably doesn't allow you to, give it a tiny bit of fuel before you let the clutch disengage. But since it probably won't let you start out in anything higher than third, that will hopefully work. The idea is that when it does get traction, you want as much forward movement you can get, and then capitalize on it by not stopping until you're on solid ground.

    Good luck.

Can’t start in anything higher than third.

And that’s what I’m gonna try tomorrow... biggest issue is to get that wheel to stop spinning. Haven’t had any luck — chain or no chain. Can’t seem to get the wheel to ride onto anything either.

There’s probably 2-3 inches of rock and then nothing but mud due to all the runoff from the rain. Someone evidently didn’t think this through all the way... if the rock isn’t compacted well enough throughout the yard we sink into mud.......

If you do, the idea is to get the tire to grab the chain, then the chain will pull more gravel under the tire. Get some motion, hopefully all forward and out. But even if you end having to rock it out, at least you'll have gotten it done.

Of course, it may not work at all and then you'll be cussing me out. But at least nobody can say you didn't try.

Is there a pallet you can knock a slat off of anywhere around there? A grade stake or even a piece of stiff cardboard?
