Don’t hear to many naturally aspirated cars with solid lifters anymore?

Brings back memories of my youth for sure.

Gramps had a 57 LJ Mack 300 cummins, I think that was added not sure. Belt drive between single screw and tag, to make it tandem drive leased to Cooper Jarret, All the company guys in the Cracker Box Jimmys only had the 4 banger Detroits. Their day was make when Big John was behind them and push them up and over a mountain with his Mack. However this only went on so long. John received letter from Cooper to terminate lease if he didn't keep that Mack away from their company trucks, due to the fact the company drivers were destroying trucks trying to push eachother. They later cut the bumpers off all company trailers because of company guys damaging stuff! lol. Wish he was here, he told it better. Before the Mack he had some Emeryvilles, daycabs. My dad asked him "how do you sleep in that. "Oh you wrap your legs once or twice around the colum, then you can stetchout." He was 6'4" back then WWII vet, and Navel Boxing Champ of the South Pacific Fleet. Big Guy back them days.

What do you suppose you “ push” it with up to 20 mph?

Let me guess? Another international with a tire roped to the front bumper?

Is the pushing procedure on page 14?

    Lol

Morning outlaws, I would have taken a pic when I started but no one wants that black screen. Sidewalks were still rolled up.

My dad in the late 70’s belonged to the NPTA or “national push truck association”. They were the guys that push started race cars at the beginning of the stock car races.

His handle was “babblin brook” ( last name is Brooking) and mine was “Sneaky Snake” because I drank all his root beer. (Tom t hall song)

Wow!!! I’m not sure where that memory came from?!?!?!
