Today I was heading down a new stretch of road, on the north bound side they were putting in the reflectors. Apparently it was it inconvenient for a few cars, they were coming northbound in my lane. I stopped right in front of them and they tried backing up but aborted that and spent 5 minutes trying to turn around in a 12 foot lane. Priceless.

So this month 9 out of 11 of my trips have been 600+ miles and multi stops. Only one of them has been on time for me to leave with while these rinky dink loads are ready that don’t need to leave early. For instance, today I waited for a 615 mile two stop load til 430 am, yet a drop and hook 396 mile load was done six hours early.
I ask my dispatcher why this keeps happening, and he tries to act like he works for the box plant. Well it depends on what machines are running, blah blah. So I said that may very well be the case but a customer that doesn’t unload the trailer for two or three days on a drop and hook shouldn’t take precedence over a live unload that is stretched to the limit.
I said ok I tell you what, I will bet anyone in this room $1000 that the trailer that was dropped today isn’t going to be unloaded tomorrow when I get there for my drop and hook. Any takers? Dead silence. (All my lazy coworkers like the easy runs, but you can’t get them to work on weekends) So I said it will never make sense to stretch some runs out to the max and put them leaving out later on a live unload multi stop than these others, no matter the justification.Oxbow, Crusader66, BigBob410 and 17 others Thank this. -
