I couldn't believe the atmosphere as I was driving into it. There was thick, soupy fog in Dunseith, but as soon as I crested the hill north of town, it cleared up and opened into an almost fantasy world. I'm glad even one of the pictures I took turned out.

The second one does suck, especially for the deer, but it might mean a proper Texas rolled end bumper with no tapers.

Yikes, I'll take no part of that, thanks. I'm really starting to appreciate the independence of pulling a tank. Aside from the place we load the lime, I only have to rely on one other person for a signature on the receiving end. No forklift/crane operator to pull the steel off the trailer, no one to hand bomb boxes out of the back... it's pleasant.

Now, if I could get a weekly run out of that soda mine in Green River, WY with a receiver that doesn't need to spend 3-4 hours testing the product samples before taking the delivery, I'd be all over that. Don't even need someone to load the trailer for you, just someone to give you paperwork when you leave.

They opened a fancy butcher shop near me. I think Kobe beef is $45 ish a lb. I've got a hard fast $28 limit for a great ribeye with sides at a decent restaurant, otherwise I'm trying a redfish, seabass, etc.

    Deer hit video:

Probably about time I get a new dash cam. This one has a pretty horrible video quality. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears. Looking for one that has Bluetooth/Wifi connectivity that I can download straight to my phone rather than plug it into a laptop.

And it was probably a good thing I didn't give the full video with audio to the company, wow was there some profanity yelled, lol.

I've been saying for 15 years I'm going to try that place and I have yet to do it, heard it's really good.

I’ve either been in a vehicle or been driving a vehicle when probably 8 or more deer were hit. Every time they are in a sprint like they are spooked, never just standing on the shoulder of the road eating.

Heck I live in a 200 home neighborhood and the people across the street have a picture of an 8 point in my yard. More deer than people In this state supposedly.

I don't know what it cost. There is a nice restaurant that a young couple opened a number of years ago. Kind of a "fancy food" place, but real nice folks. My wife arranged for them to acquire the meat and selected the meal for everyone. She said it was pretty reasonable given the meat and the level of service that they provided.

Wow, so I was pretty much spot-on with my “containers of the oil field” comment...
