There's a dang good reason I've never been thru a scale house.....I'll be ###### if I'm gonna drive in and say "hey look at me".....two lanes and sunshine.... See that ol' round barn over there....

There's a completely different world out there....it ain't got a big company name on the door...

@Hurricane69 - In my experience most driver's (read - people in general, regardless of profession) are just terrible with money management.... Have it: spend it. Don't have it? Spend it.
Example: We had a guy take out a personal loan thru the company a bit ago so he had wheels to get to and from work (1. You know the company won't lose in that deal. 2. Those have gotta be some extenuating circumstances. 3. How bad is his credit that he couldn't go elsewhere?).... Kid just sold his soul to the company... another grand mistake upon the litany of mistakes which he's already made in his short (24yr) life.... He ain't getting a sick day, holiday, snow day, or a paycheck worth more than $100 for the next 7 years (adjust for speculation).

 

I know I know... it’s a Loves... but guess what I spy... I’ll deal with the Melton’s here in the back if it means I get to go eat some blueberry pancakes. @OLDSKOOLERnWV @shogun

To paraphrase what my Dad told me half a century ago; The first impression people have of you (As a trucker) is what your truck looks like, the second is what you look like, the third is what you sound like. I try to be as professional as possible in all respects.

I don't care how old or new your truck is, how chromed out or plain it is, you ###### well better keep it clean and polished if you want any respect from me. Your tarps and gear better be neatly organized and stowed too.

I don't automatically confer respect on anyone. You need to earn it. I know bunches of people that I tolerate, accept, or even like, but my respect is saved for those that earn it.

Let's just say that black wheels ain't gonna be a good first impression for me lol!
