I’ve had friends and family that were alcoholics and drug addicts. I never was, but I do understand why. (trying to explain this without sounding nuts...but I do question my sanity too)
Years ago, when I was young, there was this guy that hated me. I was young, thought I was immortal, hotheaded,big and bad and fearless...but I was afraid of this guy. See, he lived inside of me, and he would replay every idiot moment I’ve ever had, over and over again. I understand why some turn to booze and drugs, because they too are being tormented by this inner demon guy. I call him “Six”.

Somehow, this guy took over, locked me inside, ran off all my stupid friends, made peace with my mom, started a few businesses and made money. This guy isn’t immortal, he sees death. He isn’t hotheaded, he is calm. He isn’t big and bad, he’s tough. He isn’t fearless, because without fear, you can NEVER be courageous.

Some times, I still feel like that same stupid kid, but without the mental torment. See, that Six guy can play things through BEFOREHAND. That cuts down on the vast majority of the shudda coulda woulda situations.

 

That is well explained, I feel that way alot. You just explained it to me better than I could explain it to me. Life starts with the battle against yourself.

It is the ultimate battle.

 

Courage is the ability to continue moving forward even when your scared to death. To be able to think rationally and make decisions. There is also a time that ####in nuts takes over because you can see that your in a corner and the only way out is right in front of you, surrender isn't an option.


That's how I look at truckin there have been times I should a quit. I figured I was done anyway but why surrender go down fighting. Turns out I walked off the battlefield my head high. I realize that can happen again any day.

@Rugerfan you never know what tomorrow brings. Your company could be bought out and current drivers let go or something similar. If the time is right listen to your gut it will say when. The one thing guaranteed in life is change.

 

Freind and I been looking at forklifts, this one seemed to good to be true for the money..... I'm seeing scam scam scam! Add said it had a Perkins engine.... valve cover tells me it's a 53 series Detroit lol.

 

Definitely a scam
