Those in the pic are made by Ariat. I forget which model they are, but they are steel-toed and water resistant. Boots of all brands are available all over in this part of the country. Never dawned on me that other parts may not have em. I got those at a little farm store chain called Atwoods. Tractor Supply has em too.
I’ve had a lot of different brands. Have yet to find a pair that I can get a full year out of. Course we are pretty rough on boots in the oilfield. And I wear mine all the time, work, home, trips, even polish em up for Sunday meetin. Red Wings and these Ariats seem to work the best for me.

Years ago when I did wear cowboy boots the absolute best I could find IMO were a house brand sold by Crazy House in Garden City, KS, C bar H brand. Only place you could get them and for me they fit like a well broken in pair of Stetsons right out of the box.
I had a pair of kangaroo leather boots years ago, beautiful boots, comfortable but no durability, wore them out in a couple months. -
Wanted to post this yesterday but I've been too #### busy catching up, lol.
Yesterday or the day before a few of you were talking about being haunted by your past, memories, thinking, stuff like that. I've always likened this scene with the way my life has gone and is going. You gotta keep an open mind and think about what he's saying. It doesn't all apply to me, I'm not too old to do things yet but I do like spending time by myself and I think about stuff from the past and I am definitely haunted by my past. I know some folks say you can't live in the past but it is what shapes you, imo. I don't dwell on it but I have learned from it and continue too. The past is how you react to today......learned and experienced.
Anyway, not trying to get serious and don't mean to derail, just thought this fit the past conversation.........25 pages ago! lol.
And imo, a really good movie, "A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT". It's mostly about 2 brothers growing up.

Lot of that here.... good fishing below the Dams where you can walk all the way across. Ex Father in law owned the Hardware store in Hinton, WV. Sifting in those less than knee deep riffles was a common thing for him, he was a master at catching those Hellgrammites among those slick rocks.
