Are we talking just ECM tuning to reach the 500 plus mark?

Itd be used for hopper bottom, not concerned with getting to the top first just dont want to be last.

12 years old (rebuild?) at 435 will be last to the top of the hill with 3.25's. If they were 3.73 or 3.90 you'd be perfectly fine (but you wouldn't be running much over 70 mph).

My C-13 derated one time to 90%, about 420 hp, and over 92,000 gross was a slog through Ontario, even on the 11 (no many hills). And I have 3.90's. At full power (470) she does great.

That setup will get up to speed eventually, but will be a challenge in patience on any actual grade. Getting it set to 475 would be a good first step to making it worth it. Those ACERT's love that power level. My company's fleet has about 16 of them still on the road. Some rebuilt, some over 2 million km (about 1.25M miles) just getting to their first.

If it hasn't been rebuilt, and is going to be due for one, and you have the cash (as in, you aren't looking to buy and roll), going with a CAT-done rebuild and getting the ECM set where you want it would be perfect.

He has no history of a rebuild but he thinks one head may have been replaced so who knows.

What's a cat rebuild generally cost? Whatever I do end up with i plan on paying off and keeping it instead of trading in on something newer later on. Kind of a but what I want once and done.

Before you buy, get the other numbers off the sticker inside the driver's door jam. There was one that was problematic. I don't remember which one AG200 maybe? I am sure someone will know which one to watch out for.

Yessir. I’d highly recommend against the AG200 suspension.

AG400 can be swapped in for around $3,500 if I remember correctly.
