Yeah we rebuilt it June of ‘17, then replaced the heads again a few months later due to fuel in the water. These heads have been real good till now.

With your initial description of the noise I started reliving my 73 K100.
Found that it too had swallowed a valve.
It was the first trip for the newly hired co driver.
Hope it didn't transfer metal in to another cylinder as mine did.cke, Hurricane69, Zeviander and 19 others Thank this. -
Got some thinkin to do but no matter which way I go it’s gonna get into my pocket book pretty deep.
Hey, this is why we keep that truck fund stash, right?cke, Hurricane69, Zeviander and 23 others Thank this. -
Yeah that’s about the best I can hope for right now.
Still feel blessed that it happened right next to the shop, and I was able to shut er down almost immediately. Could have been a lot worse.cke, Hurricane69, Zeviander and 22 others Thank this. -
Hopefully I didn't just royally screw up.
This agent calls me says he needs help. Explains that a truck has broke down and the load was supposed to deliver yesterday in El Paso. I'm like, I'm nowheres anywhere near El Paso?
He says the guy is in MO, about 190 mi from my drop Monday. So we're gonna be heading there come as soon as I get offloaded. Transfer the load onto my wagon, and make 1100 miles to El Paso by Wednesday morning.
Which will put me 1500 mi away from the house, with Christmas weekend right there around the corner. Hopefully the freight gods will smile and I don't end up deadheading home. -
Yes being close to home was a plus. Mine went down in S Carolina at 36 degrees. 11 1/2 hours before the wrecker got to us.cke, Hurricane69, Zeviander and 20 others Thank this.

Just take an extra 10% of the cost to cover the bar tab while doin all that thinkin.cke, Zeviander, BigCam9670 and 14 others Thank this.

El Paso is tricky. But Can Am loads come out of there. Problem is finding a broker that moves them.
Also watch your 6, 12, 9 and 3 runnin through Midland/Odessa and that whole area. Its ridiculous out there with all the oilfield stuff and trucks are crashing constantly.cke, Zeviander, BigCam9670 and 12 others Thank this. -
Our agents are territorial. This one works SW Michigan. He offered some additional to leave my trailer, take the other guys and bring it back, but it wasn't a whole lot. The rate for the round trip would have been awful and my trailer would be unsecured for 3 or 4 days.
So Monday I'll be on the phone with El Paso telling them to get me a load home.
