It's because they've never actually had anything, or done anything, or been anywhere. Their lives are empty and void of meaning, so their subconscious seeks to fill the vacuum, even if it is with falsehoods.
It (their subconscious) is in need to feel like somebody, respected, admired, powerful and courageous. But it knows also, that it's all BS. So the story gets bigger, cause it's never enough.Feedman, cke, johndeere4020 and 14 others Thank this. -
Very true. Still saying my creativity lacks outside or a garage or trucking. However once in awhile with some alcoholic stabilizer I get creative, and in trouble. Wife dislikes it. I just had to choke down listening to a guy tell me about how much money his buddy makes hauling for amazon and how he is gonna buy a truck and what advise I could give. All I had was dont!

No autograph booth for me. I was just a regular Joe who chased electric gremlins. The Navy doesn't use that "marshalling" terminology in it's common everyday vocabulary. Whole different batch of people direct the aircraft movements on the flight deck. I'm glad I wasn't one. Massive hours and all the talk about Safety being Paramount goes overboard the minute some training or operation needs to be done. I was told that one of those flight deck " shooters " walked into a prop of my squadrons aircraft by mistake the Cruise before I got there. Caught him in the shoulder and neck and split him. Looked down at the deck while walking towards the plane during Night Ops. Simple mistake of a second or three.
Those guys are usually guys who flunk out of 'A' school or sign up without knowing that they need to hold out for a guaranteed 'A' school and get assigned to wherever they need a warm body. Everybody pretty much gets to work a twelve hour shift per day plus any extra drills ( usually about at least one extra 3 or 4 hour long drill a week. Sometimes two a week ) except the flight deck guys. Those guys don't have two shifts so nobody is assigned to relieve them. We don't always fly at night but when we do they just get to keep going. 18 hour shifts are common. A lot like driving a Truck for some folks. Nothing glamorous about that job. One that needs to be done but it's certainly not for everybody.
Snipes ( Boiler Techs and the other Ratings that work with the Engines below deck ) have different working hours depending upon the numbers of Qualified people they have. I think they like to assign them to three sections working 8 hour shifts when possible, although it varies depending on several factors. Those guys work hard too. We lost several ( 5 to 8 ) in a very sudden, bad fire on my first Cruise.cke, Feedman, PoleCrusher and 14 others Thank this. -
Only place I know that uses that spelling is down south below San Antonio. Is that where you're at ?
Down there where the Falls City Fighting Beavers are legendary ?
Ok, only to me maybe. And technically they only call them the Beavers but when you see Home of the Fighting Beavers painted on the outside wall of a school it kinda makes a big impression.
Don't look at me like that. I spent 121 straight days at sea on my first Cruise. Around Day 90 the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders came aboard for Christmas. I thought that was kinda torture. I didn't go watch any of the shows. They were there about 5 day's.cke, Feedman, PoleCrusher and 12 others Thank this. -
Lol the one and only. We're leased to an oilfield co that doesnt do a whole lot too fast.cke, 1951 ford, PoleCrusher and 7 others Thank this.

Had my first hose blow on me this morning. Started the day with a short in the truck electrical line. Got two hours behind, now a little more.
Saved it right away before it got really messy. I think a chunk of product got stuck in the line and the pressure went up and blew the line out. Big gash, lots of spray, and a bit of a clog to really brighten my day, lol.
I was already supposed to be halfway up to getting my reload at this point, but eh, such is trucking.
