All the broken straps on the front half?
If so try to low cross the front, hook a strap around the bottom of the right leg and go to a winch on the left then a strap on the left leg to a winch on the right side. If they are kept low the will allow for trailer flex then keep the back half tight with 3 or 4 over the top.

 

If I had shackles I'd have already done that. The only way I see to be able to chain it is to loop around the legs somewhere to get a bite. The tops are capped so I cant get purchase on the ends of the beams either.

 

@Brettj3876 I will say one thing about guys like @wore out @superhauler just to name a few on here and who are no long among us. Can twist a wrench with their eyes closed. Woreout has done some amazing stuff with Truck and Cars from just briefly talking to the Man. The same goes for Superhauler I have yet to get to see his shop.

If i can, being my age learn as much from them and others from here I would be on the road to adding to what i know. BUT i would be just scratching the surface of information and tricks of the trade. Books can only teach you so much so far, its the hands on and the word of mouth learning that is the real jewel of knowledge.

Its amazing some days how we can from only seeing a picture know what an issue may be. Many years ago i posted a pic of a load i had on the deck. Cluck cluck saw one of my straps had a tear in it from the equipment i was hauling and pointed it out. I was next to it and didnt see the tear from up close, he spotted it from the distant shot i did zooming in.

When it comes to tools and ways to work the engine or bearing or any number of pieces of metal. I have scene these guys put macgyver to shame. If you get some time

I cant find #4 it was put some place.

this will give ya some reading for sure....

 

Initially the broken ones were up front. With all 6 legs in contact with the deck either directly or with something under the feet. The 2 I just broke were in the rear with the front feet off the deck and one strap in the front loose enough to let it move a little.


This is how it was until I broke the most recent 2, it was then strapped the way it is now.

What if you bring the hooks through the rub rail and loop back around. It wouldn’t put the side pressure on the hook that way. Just brain storming

 

What does that weigh. If I recall it like 15k. I think it should be forward and cribbing (blocked) under anything that don't touch. You cant strap it down secure if its not touching the trailer. Second that trailer dont have what I would call much arch. Its a old transcrap. Them have lots of flex especially behind front axle. I have welded tons of them. Check frame rails for cracks. But I still say its all because its not touching. Block front, rear and let center hang, or block just rear. She is moving.

 

The part is more ridged than the trailer. You cant strap or chain your way out of that. Got to get legs touching then secure.

 

Look at it this way, you are trying to make the trailer conform to the part by strapping it loose. I.E. not touching. That is why the hooks are tearing. Not breaking.

 

I missed that you now have the front half on the deck and the back legs off.
Reverse what I said and low cross the rear legs and cinch down between the front and center

 

As in hook between the deck andthe rub rail then hook to the rail? Or strap outside the rub rail to get a more in line pull with the hook vs hook under the deck and it pulling basically 90 degrees to the hook
