The huck riveting will take place inside the sleeper. I don't see a need to move the sleeper back. You could do that whole job and save a pile of money imo. Excluding painting unless you paint.

There’s a company from southern Oregon not too far from me that runs not all, but quite a few sex machine Petes with 36” bunks

That was my next question. I am pretty handy with a paint gun. I painted my red Pete. Changing body panels is not something I ever done, and wasn't sure which side the gun tightened. The guy that has the 359 sleeper has a gun I can use. May can rope him into helping for beer
peterbilt_2005, ShooterK2, Tug Toy and 9 others Thank this. -
This is where we differ.....I would cut the big hole and put a mid ninetys unibilt on it and put some bags in the back.
Riding on the frame ain't no fun...and my seat is halfway in the sleeper. That's why the kid got the KW....my backs to screwed up to be hunched up..... -
Hey. From what I have seen on here you, a buddy and just a little beer could get it done. Save most of the beer for later when you are done or hit a bump in the job. Taking out the rivets in between the cab and sleeper will take a little work. You will need to grind them down from inside the sleeper. The others just take a die grinder, put an X in the rivet and then punch it through. When grinding on rivets always watch the stream of sparks to prevent creating a secondary job. lol

I may go to the big opening I would like my seat back a little. I have seen several converted to air ride but the door frame always buckles. Don't get me wrong the one unibilt I had spoiled the #### outta me. But I been driving 359's so long that I'm used to it. Hopefully ol Lost Cause will be my last fixer upper lolSAR, 4mer trucker, Feedman and 6 others Thank this.

My passenger side needs "adjusted". It was hit pretty good from Leroy when he owned it. You can put the bags under the cab to fix it and then a little Porta power in the door. I haven't done it but that's just a bottle of whiskey and a couple pizzas.
If it's gonna be your last one make it like you want.ShooterK2, SAR, 4mer trucker and 4 others Thank this. -
I agree, I had forgot the later had bags under cab and the bunk. That's something to consider.ShooterK2, SAR, 4mer trucker and 4 others Thank this.

I'd never heard of them but was talking to Kurt one day and he told me about it. There is a recent thread around hear someplace that was talking about it. A friend of mine and I talked about it awhile back. He builds alot of trucks and does alot of frame stretches.

Hey @Logan76 remember what I said the other day about the truck being nothing a fire wouldn't fix? Funny how things work out...
