In all seriousness, I actually had a good time that week in Starke. Was down there to do Range Safety Officer and Firing Line Coaching for Navy Reservists who were getting pre-deployment weapons qualifications done.

Several days of expending ordinance and yelling at people. What's not to like?

Good eats. You ever get up my way. Small joint in town. Reinos 3rd generation son in the kitchen cooking real homemade Italian dishes. Not fancy but good place. One place I will go in and tell Johnny to make me whatever he feels. It was the first pizza joint in town about 1950. Still using hard stick pepperoni on pizza.

 

Just for the week. I was stationed up in Portsmouth, Virginia but our "Reserve Component" was all Floridians.
