Well made a day trip to villa ridge to look at that yellow and black pete, its alot nicer in person than in pics. Only thing is it's been setting for 6 months so it wouldnt start. They are going to get someone out to fix it and I'll possibly swing in next week to look and drive it.

Figure I'll hit him at 20k and try to take it home for 25k or less.

If you need more weight on the drives, open the spread. It should move around 2000lbs or more to the drives.

Yeah..... was told they tried to start it yesterday evening and it ran a little then this morning nothing. Guy offered to put us up in a hotel and all that since they dropped the ball on making sure it was ready.

That's one of those tasks I won't try. For me it's cheaper to have someone who knows what they're doing than to break 3 or 4 trying to do it myself.

For the short term, this one:

It's a couple years newer but was freshly rebuilt last winter, and not really been used much since. I haven't heard of new trucks are on the way, but I keep feeling like I'm getting passed over for upgrades.

But as far as everything else the truck was in really good shape, no rust or evidence of rust, body straight, tires were all 80% plus with new steers and pushers. Inside was clean and no wires dangling or things out of place.

53 on headed for Omaha. Been a skinny minute since I been to Nebraska beef. Texas brush country is some of my favorite traveling. Spent most of the afternoon just lookin around in the peace and quiet. Course while most dream of owning such a place or what have I often wonder if an Indian ever chased a cowboy over this or that very spot. Or if somebody had to make a break for it with a posse hot on their tale. Hard to imagine coming out west with all you own in a wagon. Probably with a young wife and big dreams. Immigrants most of em. Gritty sunsabeeches that understood if you want it you gotta sweat.

WTH happened, I know things, people, culture change with time but jeez something to think about i reckon on my ride
