No, ground bearing has a hydro ram that acts like a big jack. You push down and lift the trailer. Then remove shims. Lower trailer and the pull forwards to detach. In soft ground they will just push trough the dirt. So you have to put down an outrigger pad

Nope, a non ground bearing uses hydraulic cylinder that push on the trailer itself to pick it up, probably what you’ve seen. A ground bearing has a cylinder that pushes down on the ground like a jack.
