I was just kind of thrown to the wolves when I started. I learned several things quick. First, close every gate behind you. Second, wear boots if you are in the loading chute because you’ll get stepped on. Third, Charolais ain’t to be ###### with. They are unpredictable and very dangerous. I always got nervous seeing a 2000lb Charolais bull on the bills but the heifers will kick you for no reason.
You pick up alone late at night, just you and an old sale barn. Dim lighting, who knows where the bills were left, and young cows that have never been on a trailer don’t cooperate. Lots of chasing them around. I still think it’s the best kind of trucking though. -
You know I sure do feel a whole lot better now. Y'all lighten up a fella's mood right quick.
Now sittin here in Reno, there's a certain line from a certain Johny Cash tune keeps poppin in my head. Wonder why that is... -
