    Running off my generator. I have a heater too but it never really distributes the heat very well. My feet are always cold in the morning and my head is on fire. My mattress is always cold when I crawl in too. So last night I was perfect under the blanket and just had the heater on just enough to knock the chill off. It was probly 40 in the sleeper with the curtains closed? Apparently it was below freezing on the cab side? The ice was on the inside of the window.

    Just before it was time to get up I cranked on the heat and in 5 min it was 75 in the sleeper.

    Even though we might want to believe it, that's not (usually) the reason women get all riled up.

    Ah, so you've pretty much got a Espar heater setup without the Espar heater. I've slept as cold as 28F, but was wearing thick socks, long johns and a shirt under the blanket. It was cold first thing in the morning, but nothing extreme. The truck I've moved into has an Espar heater, so I won't have to worry about putting extreme hours on the motor (223 pretty much runs 24/7 when it's colder than 14F).

    I think that's why you get guys that'll say they don't like large cars, or plastic trucks, or anything outside or in between. It's a perception of who it is that operates that type of equipment.

    You have these morons that roll through a truck stop with their brights on and racking their pipes when they know folks is trying to get a nap out. They tail gate and give no respect to a company hand in a plastic truck just because it's a plastic truck. They give everyone in a large car a bad name.

    Then you got guys in plastic 64 mph trucks, that run with their cruise set right up against the governor, trying to pass each other for 30 miles or running the middle lane for no reason. Then they will park with their headlights on so no one can see wtf their doing.

    Used to be, most everyone had some courtesy, and #### was given out equally. But when it came to it, everyone was in it together when it came to the road.

    @Zeviander

    What's funny about my boss is he used to be a driver, so one would think he'd understand some of the frustrations more and be more proactive about trying to keep them to a minimum. The other factor is having to deal with what the salesmen want. They, of course, need to keep their customers happy and get the product they sell to them out etc. etc. etc. However, when they do stupid crap like overbook the truck, ask you to take out something that should have been a "Will Call Counter Pickup", send you all over hell and creation then have the gall to go "why did it take you so long to get out and back?"

    "Hey could you swing by...."

    "What do you mean you can't drive 400 miles, make 6 stops, and be back by 5pm if we hold you here until 10:30am because a part (that could have been shipped direct to customer) we need to take is coming in on UPS?"

    They act like unloads take 10 minutes and the truck just phase shifts through worm holes to get to job sites.

    Only one of the sales guys has been a driver, but since he's now in a cushy office job he's forgotten it. He's the worst offender when it comes to being a knob about how he schedules or sets up loads. For example, this past week he set up a huge order and scheduled the truck just for one run to make the delivery (three hour round trip). When I looked at the paperwork to start pulling the order I knew immediately that it wasn't going to all fit on our trailer.....

    "Oh, well can we just take the rest out tomorrow?"

    "No, we have another large order scheduled... Do you even look at the Calendar?"

    Wound up having to call in a Hot Shot to take what didn't fit on our truck. Afterwords they (sales guys) have the nerve to get all spun up about "delays" when we've been under staffed for the past couple of months....
