Oak for decking?

 

I wish. Nobody around here has oak. I tried to talk them into apitong trailer decking but the price talked them right out of it. So it will be douglas fir treated with Thompson's water seal.

 

Shame to put all that money in to it, then cheap out on the floor

 

! What the ####! Can’t get anyone to ship oak out there quick fast? That deck is gonna be clapped out quicker than a one handed hore.

 

Yeah. And after all this it still would have been cheaper to go down to Ogden and get one off Big Bubba's lot.

But their check always cashes so if they want to save this one from the wrecking yard and put a cheap floor in it then that's what they'll get.

Before winter is over I have another project...take a 18' stock trailer and remove axles and completely rebuild the frame under the body. It's going to cost them as much as a new stock trailer.

 

Shipping cost added to the higher price for oak pushed them back toward fir.

It wouldn't be this way if it was mine.

 

The customer is always is right! So we let them think.

 

Well, it’s their money, so I guess they can choose

 

Hey at least you'll get to put a new floor in it every couple years. Nothing like repeat business.
