Same with my 9 speed experience. Once I figured it out I was billy big rigger

 

You get used to it, it was nice in moderately congested traffic. You could get down around 15 mph without dropping ranges.

I’ve never shifted anything but a 10 speed and a 13...

Any other pattern is foreign. Always figured 9s were typical straight truck business. But I’ve seen quite a few OTR trucks with them.

I was speaking more figuratively, but I guess that could work if they con't call your bluff? College town rentals is a whole other world, and so would be higher rent areas I imagine.

 

9 speeds were real popular in the 80’s

 

So anything .73 or .74 final. Usually straight forward to change out?

 

How do you mean change out? Swap trans?

 

Just having fun. I haven't had to do that yet!

 

Around here it was the 10 speed, when I went out west is seemed like the 9 speed.
