Didn’t ATHS do an article on him and the truck in Wheels Of Time a couple of years ago?

 

Yeah the Detroit 471’s were used a lot in the big forklifts.

The aths had a big write up a month or two back about the history of the old Detroits. It was pretty interesting. The current one is about the cabover fords.

12.7 was late 80’s I think, the electronics were jointly designed with Deere. There were some 2 strokes with the DDEC computer.

The military used an 8v92 up to DDEC 3 I think. 500 horse. They used them in the tank carriers

 

Where's that Old Uncle at ? He can tell us about being there when they invented the wheel. Wasn't his first Trailer like 8 feet long or something ?
