That's great shogun and Congratulations to them! I remember those barn burners. GO BULLDOGS!!!

Your right, it is a lot of fun. My 13 yr old son is in a tournament for the next 3 days and I told him tonight if he wasn't hustling I was going to yell at him using his first and middle name, needless to say that wasn't a very popular threat, lol.

Just once I’d like to see those Elog idiots inspection record. There are so many caveats in the FMCSA manual, rules they break daily unknowingly. They wouldn’t know tire requirements, brake chambers, reflective tape placement, etc but they praise the almighty Elog like it makes them safe somehow, running around with three brakes out of adjustment and a tire ready to blow out.

I think that the general public is disconnected with what a truck driver actually does. There is more to it then just driving from A to B for 11 hours day in, day out. Even Line haul drivers have to be aware of their equipment and what is gong on around them. It's kinda like pharmacy where people think the only thing to do is count to 30, but there is a lot more then meets the eye.
The overall decline in the quality of driver and lack of professionalism throughout the industry has lead to this simple view on driving trucks and the low public approval.

The whole driverless truck/autonomous truck concept is one of the biggest hesitations I have about entering the industry. It's still a good decade out for basic implementation (like level 2? the adaptive cruise and lane assist features, and probably 20-30 years for a fully autonomous truck)

I still say if you are doing what others aren't willing to do you will always have a job. And it will probably pay better than average.
