Same as cat. There support for older engines are being contracted out. Most cat, detroit parts are china. Shooter I dont know is there anyone making new cast cylinder heads. I here there is a aftermarket co. making cat heads. New casting. But I dont know the name.

Finally got a call back from the shipper after 3.5 hours of waiting. Loading at 6am tomorrow (fml) but with enough massaging of the e-nanny and creative use of PC I should make it back. Come hell or high water, it'll just magically stop working and I'll be forced to use paper.

That sucks Shooter. The positive side is that you didn't bolt it on and have leaks and fluids mixing. My brother and I built a small block one time. RHS(big race engine place) had done the machine work. Get the cam degreed in, button it up, crank it and it runs great.

Cut it off to adjust the valves and hear water dripping on something hot. Look underneath and see the header pouring out water. Pull the dipstick and find milky white oil. Very frustrating even for a small motor.

Fuel getting in the oil? Friend of mine did an inframe on his N14 which included 3 recon (from cummins) heads and it immediately started putting fuel in the oil. Traced it back to a bad head. Pretty tough to have peace of mind when stuff like that is a common occurrence. Pretty ####ty man :-/

I think I need to put on a PTO compressor for offloading these if I keep doing this. Otherwise imI going to wear out the engine mounted one.

Had a SBC done at a good shop? Under turned the crank. They forgot to sonic test it first. Turned it down to soft metal. It was hammering rods on start up. Never got the cam broke in. And it was in a P30 chassis. Had to come back out from the inside.
