Seems like many are having some engine trouble. My buddies Pete with a 565 ISX came in on the hook today. Told me it was cutting out and blowing black smoke, hope he figures it out. Hope mine ain't next!

Have you tried a test ecm to see if it's on the electrical side? How about new wire harnesses?
I feel real bad you didn't get it fixed and hope you do real soon. Keep us updated buddy.sawmill, 1951 ford, Hurricane69 and 9 others Thank this. -
I didn't get it.
Haven't tried one because it's intermittent and does it more when the outside air is cold...when I run down south it runs perfect.
This morning, it seems to be fine even though it's super cold, it comes and goes.
The cat shop wanted me to buy 6 new injectors, I told him I'm not just spending money to spend it, you PROVE to me it needs them and I will....of course he couldn't.
No codes on his computer so he was baffled.
I think it's sucking air, we pulled my primary filter off and it was only half full...
Idk what the deal with it is, I've been fighting this gremlin for almost a year now.sawmill, 1951 ford, 4mer trucker and 8 others Thank this. -
Went out at 4am to start the truck, -10 degrees, unplug it and it didn't spark like it usually does, didn't think to much about it till I tried to start it. Wouldn't hardly roll over. Turns out the pluggin in the shed must of burnt out over the weekend. Finally started at about 8:30

@OLDSKOOLERnWV : Black smoke, I thought that was the thing the cool kids wanted to do with their trucks these days?

Just can't seem to find my motivation this week? I think I'd rather just stay home and do my taxes? Y'all stay safe out there.

Alright, what you just described is exactly what my truck does. It has done it the entire two years I’ve had it, despite 2 new sets of injectors, new heads, turbo, fuel pump, all new lines (suction AND return), and a complete inframe.
Like you, I think it’s air in the fuel because you can count on it doing it when it’s cold and not when warm. That’s why I’m contemplating some kind of electric lift pump like the one @wore out put on his.peterbilt_2005, cke, Logan76 and 9 others Thank this. -
I suppose you could try with the least expensive stuff and replace all your fuel lines to see if that helps. If they are still original they could be going bad.

Speaking of @wore out and that pump, what’s the dimensions on that dude? Got any pics of yours all mounted? I looked em up but it’s hard to tell the size from the pics I found.
