Farm tractors haven’t had mechanical steering for 60 years, I realize they don’t go as fast but still pretty important.

 

300 6 cylinder was a good old motor. They’re were some in grain trucks around here and a LOT of them in 3/4 and 1 ton pickups. Hard to imagine why today’s engines.

Not a great way to start my weekend. Someone's weekend just ended, was not a good night. Who ever it was they will help a bunch of people live a longer life.

Yes my Oliver has no steering shaft or box at all. But there not grocery getters lol, unless we are thinking of a MM UDLX .

 

Used on a lot of stationary units too, very common and well liked.

I have a 55, this is when I first got it. S Carolina truck with original radio still in the dash. Lot of time aligning those body panels ain’t it? Lol.

Back in the day, precise body panel fit wasn’t a priority at the factory. My ‘48 Stude for example, under the hood where the A pillars meet the cowl to be spot welded, both sides are different, you can see where they just hammered the metal into place to get it “pretty close”. As long as the doors would close it left the factory, it was up to the dealer to adjust them.

 

You know how Gearjammers are..... stop when they’re done lol.
