Sorry @Bear135 that turned into a bit of a rant.

In short, our new 680s can kiss my ###. I'd almost prefer to go back to a Freightshaker.

We have a brand new Cascadia running around... I'd almost take that aero crap over the gutless Paccar motor -- at least it would have a Detroit under the hood.

I waited 7 hours to get loaded with 11 bundles of lumber out of a port near Edgemere near Maryland... they had the audacity to try and kick me to the curb at 8:00 at night 15 minutes after they were through... told the manager to #### off and I'm gonna park right here.

D.C. Wouldn't be so bad if the shippers didn't think they were the greatest gift to the human race.

No rant at all, I enjoy hearing about drivers thoughts and what goes on with everything just like what you covered. I don't do it anymore so this is my place to come hang out and get the straight poop from everybody and stay caught up. I've even managed to make a few friends along the way, so feel free to rant on anytime as far as I'm concerned.

That was the same way System went. I’d still be there if it weren’t for them going to autos and cameras. The freight was easy and big miles. But after about 2014 they really started getting big. Everyone is in such a rush to grow and expand, me? I’m over over just wanting to exist and maintain. A lot of places would be better off if they got to even say 500 trucks and said that’s enough. If they stood up and said no cameras and no auto braking or bendix ########. Trucking needs to go back to about 1985. I wasn’t alive then, but men were men and trucks were trucks. I don’t care if it’s an aero truck or a hood, just let me do the job and if I mess up, then fire me. But until then don’t treat me like a child or feel the need to watch me while I drive down the road.

Exactly how I feel. I don't mind the current drive cam. It's basically a simple gyro -- hard braking or tight turn too fast will set it off. Occasional smack over a big dirt hole in a parking lot will do it. I can deal with the driving facing side as it's off every other time. I don't have a problem with that but the new ones are even more intrusive.

If you need to stuff the truck with a boatload of safety features maybe you don't actually have the safest drivers on the road...

I'd love to go to a much smaller outfit sub 100 trucks. Valley out of MN. Rinaudo in Jacksonville. Keen. Etc...

I would go back to working for an o/o. But sometimes the grass isn't always greener on that pasture...

I’ve heard nothing but great things about Valley. Plus a salary position is always nice.

This is where I'm at as well. I don't drive anymore, at this point, except for harvest. But I still like to stay up with stuff.
