We gotta do head gaskets on one of those red headed step child's here sometime....she's been pushing a little water. Had her twelve years and never been opened up.... can't kick her outta the family for gettin' tired I guess.
You sure are getting lots of experience....I sure do respect a man for keepin' after it till it's right.....

Those things will take a stack of 5-6 crushed cars off a trailer in one grab. And I don't even think that's stressing out their lifting power.7-UP, OLDSKOOLERnWV, Slowpoke KW and 16 others Thank this.

With similar fuel economy between the gas and diesel motors, a hotshot driver could make a whole lot more money running a big gasser than a diesel these days. Between DEF/SCR issues and almost a whole dollar difference per gallon in price, it doesn't make much sense to buy diesels anymore. This is probably a good move on Ford's behalf.7-UP, Feedman, Slowpoke KW and 17 others Thank this.

Thank ya sir. I had Cummins in OKC work up a quote to do it cuz I’ll be honest I really didn’t wanna get back into it again.
$16k and some change.
I just did it myself for less than 3k. I borrowed one of the shop guys to keep the rods from hittin the crank when I dropped the pistons in. Other than that it’s been all me. These are really simple motors once ya get familiar with it.
If I was closer I’d sure come help ya when it’s time.7-UP, OLDSKOOLERnWV, Slowpoke KW and 19 others Thank this. -
I've never been in one. The kid has done heads on a few and it's his ride now......well it's always been his ride my name's just no longer on the title.
One of the things I found while trying to troubleshoot was the number one injector has something to do with setting the timing on injectors???
Like I've said in the past my brain don't work quite like it used to so can't remember what that's all about.
Probably messed that up and don't remember where I found it. I know we swapped 1 & 2 and it didn't fix the problem. That ring a bell with anyone?OLDSKOOLERnWV, Slowpoke KW, Oxbow and 13 others Thank this. -
Injector timing is set by the thickness of the gaskets on the cam followers. If ya need to replace the gaskets due to oil leaks, most folks just measure and replace with the same thickness that came out of it. But to know for sure it’s right, ya really need the Cummins timing tool, which goes in the injector hole.
Maybe that’s what you’re thinkin of?Feedman, BigCam9670, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 16 others Thank this.
