I think it has something to do with how the celet ecm reads.... that's why I was questioning myself. If I remember right if the number one injector fails your screwed because the firing secence runs off it??? Can't remember...

Sorry man I’m just catching up on yalls ramblings today. Lol.
The N14 manual gives specific measurements. Mine all measure right at 7.25” and book allows 7.31” so they should be fine. No corrosion whatsoever.
I’d replace em just for good measure if it didn’t cost a cool grand for the 32 bolts.
Sometimes I think I’m in the wrong business. Lol.

And I do remember that because we had to fix oil leaks on the covers.
I mostly deal with e model cats.

That may be. I know the engine position sensor is down behind the oil pump. It reads off a little nub on the cam gear and tells the ECM when to fire. Beyond that, I don’t know much about how the ECM does its stuff.sawmill, tony97905, BigCam9670 and 14 others Thank this.

Dad’s 2007 ISX has 34-35 psi going down the road which is what it’s supposed to be, but I told him we need to shim the oil pump. He has the amsoil oil filtration system on it. The cam is original but the head is new when it was rebuilt. (1.2 million miles, up to 8 mpg)
We used the M1P system to delete it. Block off plate on intake tube, block off plate on egr, block off plate on cooler. The kit came painted ISX red so it still matches pretty well. My brother is possibly going to fabricate an intake tube for it. Truck has a full tilt manifold and the fuel pressure sensor harness, we swapped a free flowing Donaldson muffler too. It’s a 475 but probably putting 500+ to the ground with the mods. It can do more depending on how high you turn up the harness. -
What would that pay direct with the mill?
I don’t know about steel hauling. Seems many stick strictly to it. I’m not in the steel belt: though there is a coil outfit a half hour away that I periodically think about approaching.

The main thing on the ecm is they use electrolytic caps. If you ground out the power wires they pop. Was around 4k for a new one or 2500 for a rebuild. The caps are like 37¢....

They used to make a noise suppression for car stereos with a coil and a cap.
Electrolytic caps are made of glass .....if you don't pay attention to the positive and negative that's marked on the side they will blow up in your hand.Feedman, sawmill, johndeere4020 and 17 others Thank this. -
We used those noise suppressors to get rid of alternator whine when I was a kid.
If I ain’t mistaken, a good old CB radio has those caps sprinkled around the circuit board, right?
