That wasn’t you in the ditch about 9:15 am at exit 2 on 63 today was it? I’d hate to see that wrecker bill since it was two of them yanking on him.

How does he like the full tilt manifold? Could he really see a difference with it? I’m play with the idea of getting one, and changing the intake tube

Idk. Doctor bakers didnt have those questions last year. Who knows tho

I wont buy another diesel that's for sure. Had enough problems out of this one. I'd like to trade this cummins for an extended cab 2500 gm product with a 6.0 or maybe save up and find a ram 2500 with the 6.4

It supposed to be worth 30 hp, but we mainly got it for the fuel mileage which has returned about .2 mpg. The orginal turbo spools up a little quicker, and the egt’s have dropped about 150 degrees.

He ordered it from Jeg’s, and it showed up the next day. $1500 ish if I remember correctly. If you do it, just soak the bolts for a little while and they came right out. One had snapped but we backed it out no problem. The difficult part is getting the gaskets to stay in place while you mount it, you need two people since it’s one piece (heavy). One to line it up, the other to keep the gaskets from slipping off.

That should pay close to $900 direct around here, up where you're at probably 2 or 3 more bills. That coil is close to 50k, not everyone can haul it legal. Plus it probably needs covered.

Steel can pay well, especially if you can haul more than 48k lbs. It can be hard on equipment though, so you gotta figure that in.

They used to pay on hundred weight with a min of 40. It can be quite lucrative at times, but sometimes not so much.

I’ve had bolts break on this one too, Cummins said the manifold are bad to warp on the oe manifolds. They want way more than you can get a full tilt for.

You can see the exhaust bolt missing dead center of the manifold above the hot side. The hardest parts are reaching the back side of the turbo mounting flange bolts with a wrench, reattaching the oil return line, and getting it worked in behind that coolant pipe by the front of the turbo intake side.

Dirty Diesel for me until I die. By that I mean until my 7.3 dies, which won't be any time soon. Only way I'll give that thing up is if the gooberment forces their overreaching hand and bans it from the road. When she gets tired it'll get an overhaul and I'll continue on my happy little way.

Ours are not exempt either. We've had a load of turbo and actuator problems, coolant loss that nobody can figure out and a few electrical issues, but don't have enough hours/miles on any of them yet for derate issues. Getting people to idle them up has been an ongoing problem. It's just a matter of time before the issues rear their ugly heads.
