Looks like about a third of the load is still in the bucket.

Always makes me wonder when I see these. Was it a PTO or switch malfunction? I mean surely folks don’t just forget to let it down after they dump....

Well I renewed mine in Jan. No questions like that on it, but I’m sure it’s coming.

Sadly folks been forgetting for years. Had a uncle that worked for a local construction contractor. This was in the 70’s...... contractor had a single axle Ford dump truck, fuel tank was under the side of the bed, a flat fuel tank. Had to raise the bed a good foot to get fuel in it, guess who got fuel then forgot to lower the bed?? Yep that guy!! Uncle took another truck and trailer to help dislodge it from the underpass in Huntington lol.

    Transflo Eld's are awesome!

Woke up sweating because I fell asleep with the truck idling and the heat on lol. Couldnt remember exactly when I went off duty last night. Open the eld app and I went off duty at 5:49pm. After that I went into the TA and grabbed a shower. According to my eld which is on my tablet, that was powered off and charging, I went back on duty at 6:46pm. Me and the IT douche will be having a convo later today.

Now what business is it of the doctor to ask if you’ve got guns?

    Ridiculous.

    Now that’s something I hadn’t thought of.

Really oughtta have a light or buzzer or something wired to a pin switch to let the driver know when it’s not all the way down.

Never drove a dump truck, but I’ve pulled my share of end dump trailers. Only time it’s in the air is when ya dump. I’ll start driving slow away from the pile but I make dang sure it’s all the way down before I hit the blacktop or drive under power lines.

I also see belly dumps lose a load of rock now and then. Accidentally hitting the switch is usually the cause I reckon. Outfit I worked for in the mid 90’s had that figured out. They had two switches, one on one side of the column with the protection thing to keep ya from accidentally flipping it, and then another switch on the other side. You had to really want to open them doors.

Most all have a red light showing the PTO is engaged, but most don’t work. And even though the PTO is disengaged the bed will stay up when the control lever is in neautral position. Of course it’s worse today with all the distractions.
