These are staggered tapers. Steps basically. Makes it easier for the driver to tell how much further he needs to go.

I wouldn't use 2×10's for Ramps but doubled 6×6's would sure work and be safe

These are tripled. Staggered triples. I'm not positive about how wide they are but they are a little wider than the tire. They are on a concrete floor and they don't slip or slide around because of the grip of the concrete. New ones might slip some, I don't know. These are old and weathered but work really good.

 

I'm not putting in a pit....to much of a pain. I did some research and found a company that remans those air lift tire Jacks you see in the big shops....I can buy them cheaper than putting in a pit.

Between you and me and the other thousand people that read these shenanigans I'll probably just keep on doing what I been doing for years....

I'd just be happy with another trip around the sun....it's all about the ride...

 

Ill test drive stuff I have Zero plans of purchasing!

 

I have a zipper scar from 11 staples in the top of my head due to a pit not deep enough. I think you know my opinion.
