Dry Dirt motorhome with chicken lights and chrome taking front door. Old man in bib overalls and a peterbilt hat laughing at the poor folk in the right lane. I can picture that
"Honey we was doing 75 what was that passed us?!?"
"Don't know it had Dry Dirt on the door and then all I saw was tail lights!"

Yessir it was a tour. Got to see a lot of small town and back roads. Got in n out of San Fran like a boy out ya daughters bedroom late at night. It was cool to see hitchhikers bicyclists and backpackers connecting with their country or connecting with themselves. Haven't added up the miles but it was quite a few in a short time.
I've always said you should see your home country before travelling abroad

We been talking about getting a camper n doing a tour of the country for our next trip. We both agreed the whole "getting there" out to like Yellowstone or one of them places might be better accomplished by plane. Tough to take a week off n spend most of it getting there n back.

I'm reticent to take a rental once there tho: seems like a hourly hotel room would be a similar circumstance... I never seen the inside of one, but all the hasidics rent them around here n they are known for being ripe.

He bought an old Church of God and rehabbed it to turn into a hat museum. He is 75 years old and it gets him out of bed every day for this. Place was a dump a year ago this month. Paid $1 for it so you can imagine what it looked like.

We have a WABASH train depot here too
they compleatly re did over the last 5 years too. He built a train set of the town in the 20s to put in it. We have the WABASH festival in 4 weeks and I have now been promoted to head engineering this year because of his hat place.

Hat's off to him. When I was a kid, one of the local sheriff's deputies got hit along the highway. He lost both his legs at the knee. He had one of these setups.

It's amazing what a person can overcome when they put their mind to it.
