I'd take a 1960's pre-Jake, pre-air-ride, pre-auto slack adjusters, etc etc whatever before I'd drive a new Volvo. Except if I have to go through Indiana, then I wouldn't want spring ride. Those roads are something awful.
I've been finding out that this 470 C-13 in my truck pulls like a freaking beast (very unexpectedly at these weights). I'm running 90,000 gross (with 60,000 on the trailer) and got 5-direct on the 7% up-grade on the north side of North Bay, ON. In my old 550 C-15, I got 5-over at 93,000 on the 7% up-grade in Cochrane, AB. I feel the 3.90 rear end probably helps (3.70 in the old truck), but 53 psi boost also probably contributes.
With the new X-15 units being delayed because of permit issues, I'm thinking the trucking gods might be telling me to stick it out with this truck. She's real special.

You've got the fries and gravy, just toss in some fine Wisconsin curds and you'll be in Flavour Town. Everything is better with cheese.
