I am officially done with this winter crap!

A persistent circulation stuck over Hudson Bay has been behind a lot of the dogged cold that's kept cities like Edmonton below the freezing mark for more than a month. The last time Edmonton topped 0 degrees was January 31; although that might seem like getting off easy if you're in Thompson, Manitoba, where the thermometer hasn't crept into the positive numbers since November 5.

"It's been so cold that we've already broken our all-time coldest March temperature for both the city of Lethbridge and Sundre, Alberta over this past weekend as temperatures dropped down to about -40°C," says Weather Network meteorologist Kelly Sonnenburg.
