So here's my #####fest of the day...

Apparently this morning I was the ahole because the Mexican guy who unloads the trucks at the foundry I was at in Houston didnt speak English. Once he got loud with me I let him know that "I dont habla spanish in America". He seemed to quiet down after that.

I am so sick of being expected to cater to everyone else and their needs. I dont go to Mexico and demand they speak English to me...Ive always given a good effort to communicate in Spanish 1st, then they usually laugh and stop me because they speak English. But when you're holding up my day and can't give me proper direction of where to go, that is not my problem.

    Welp.

Seems like we done ran the new driver off already. Been here less than three months and he just put in his notice. I'm actually surprised he lasted this long, hell yesterday I #### near lost my @#$@ with him. Long of it short, is he's a guy who for some reason thought pulling a flatbed for one of the largest pipeline suppliers in the U.S of A was going to be an EZPZ "out and back" type job. Didn't think about how he was going to have to more than just drive.

    Learn product? Huh?

    Pull product? What?

Package/palletize product in a way that can be efficiently, safely, and legally loaded on to an open deck? WHERE?!

Be expected to do these things at a pace that doesn't resemble corpses having intimate relations with each other? IMPOSSIBLE.

Guess when we started to pick up a bit and are getting bigger orders he saw what was coming and decided to NOPE on out.

Back into the driver's seat for me in a few weeks. If the next driver we hire doesn't work out I guess it'll be time to just say "Nah, I got this, hire a counter monkey"

Only person I'm too hard on is my wife...... wait.... that doesn't... nevermind.

In all seriousness, nah I wasn't particularly hard on the guy. Lots of coaching and I tried my best treat him like an adult. Becomes harder when you have to repeat yourself too many times, and the person makes it clear they aren't listening or paying attention.

Just don't think he was up for a job that 90% of the time is LTL flatbedding where you've got multiple stops, have to go into some janky places, and *gasp* have to do more than just hold a steering wheel.

Our mail lady is married to a sharecropper. Doesn't own an acre of ground but allegedly rents all he farms. Before they changed the way government payments were structured he was the ground breaking foreman for the fella he rents the ground from. The land owner set lots of fellas up to keep the payments coming. Now I'm not saying that's right or wrong its they business but when he knocks my box down every year with a piece of equipment then she don't deliver till I get home to put a new box up pisses me off. I got a 3406 crank mounted to a flywheel that's gonna be tied to steel 10 deep and concrete reinforced before they go ta scratching this year. Gonna put my box on top the balancer. He may get the box but the rest of her is gonna play hell with on the disc or du all. Quite possibly the big air seed drill.

I ain't a vindictive fella but least the guy could do is prop my box back up for me if he knocks it down.

I remember when I was a kid and grand dad first quit farming and rented it out. The man that rented it was a small operator had an ol cab over he pulled a rock trailer with when he got the crop layed by. Anyway day before he had any flying done he would be covering 2 gardens that were an acre a piece with plastic trying to be a good neighbor. Truckin ain't all that's headed to hell in a hand bag
