Do they bend a lot in the wind? I have 5' firesticks, top loaded. They like to bounce around like a couple kids in a fun house.

Very much so. It was rigid for the first wek or so, then the flex of it in the wind made it start tilting into the left lane. So, I went to Home Depot and bought a piece of 3/4 inch pvc, cut it to about 15 inches, painted it to match.

Slid it over the antenna, and now its vertical at 65 mph, doesn't go past it. It really reduced the stress, especially since these type antennas are prone to break at the bottom from flexing.

I've run Wilson Silver Load, Tiger 5 foot, Francis, Predator 10k, and this will beat them all. When I put my 8 pill in my pickup I will have a skip shooter.

Might have just been the one I had but when the lights were on it had a hum you had to squelch out. I got rid of it and never had another nightwatch so I can’t compare.

I like a real quiet receive. When you can open the squelch wide open with the rf gain all the way up and just barely hear a hint of static so you know it’s working but not enough static to drown anyone out.

Mine is like that sometimes in rural areas at night. But then as soon as I pass a truck with all that speed sensing automatic brake stuff it about blows me outta the cab before I can reach the radio.
