I watched an ol boy a couple weeks ago. Backed up to the box, his unload hose was just a little short so we added a 4-footer, which made it too long. No biggie, just pull forward and get the slack out, then fire up the blower.
Got a couple more guys hooked up and then I went back to my truck to wait my turn. Few minutes later that ol boy walked in front of his truck, noticed his extinguisher laying under his bumper, and tried to pull it out. Tire was on it just enough to prevent it. He spent a couple minutes on it before giving up.
It’s just a silly rule. We are in a hurry on jobs when we are on the verge of running them out of sand. You need to get hooked up and blowing ASAP. Easy to forget that crap in front of your bumper when ya need to pull up a couple feet in a hurry.tony97905, Feedman, BigCam9670 and 21 others Thank this. -

You and Shooter really need to pay closer attention to the quotes you're selecting before you reply. Uncle would be ashamed of y'all's performance today.BigCam9670, ShooterK2, cke and 12 others Thank this.

If you do a full application and listen for a slack ratchet sound at least once a day (with the parking brakes off) while stopped you will have less trouble. If you hear the ratchet sound more than twice in a row then you should check for a bad slack.
The myth that you must do so while backing is just a myth that comes from the auto-adjusters on drum brake cars from the 50's through the 70's.Feedman, BigCam9670, Tug Toy and 11 others Thank this.
