Fresh water is from a well. As of now it gets shut off and purged to below the frost line to prevent freezing. Well goes down 80-100ft from what I've been told.

I know that freezing will be a problem. Don't know how much use it will get during winters. With it being permanently parked there I'm sure there's plenty to be done to insulate and heat to prevent freezing pipes during winter.

I think the biggest issue would be keeping it warm all the time. I don't know much about the place other than a quick tour and some basics.

The owners are my Brother in Law's aunt/uncle so I'm sure they will answer any questions I have about it. It was pouring rain all day Saturday when I looked at it so there wasn't a whole ton of time. As soon as I get the financial side ironed out I'll be heading up there for a weekend to get more acquainted with the place and how everything works now before winter gets here.

No woodstove. Huge firepit though. Guess I can just keep a bonfire going all the time and use that to warm up.

I wouldn't mind maybe 5-10 years form now getting rid of the trailer and building a little cabin up there. I'm more than capable of doing most of the work myself it's just a matter of time and money.

You don't need to heat it all the time but do put antifreeze in the traps. The pink stuff you find at Wal-Mart. Pour it down every drain.

No concrete, just gonna put the dirt back in the trench. I have it down about 4 feet, hoping frost won't push them up. My deck isn't very big.

Why not just do individual holes with concrete?

I'm wondering about compaction, have you considered running a plate compactor as you fill it up?

I'm just curious, I'm awful at building, just trying to learn something new.

I thought about that, but I wasn't going to do each one by hand and didn't have a post hole digger to do it. Just thought it was easier to do it this way.

I think I'm going to rent a compactor and fill with some water to get it to pack. I did put some old disk blades off our airseeder and placed them under each pole so they can't sink down anymore.
