    My FIL just turned 82.

    2x a year he brings his ties over so I can tie them for him. I’ve been doing this for the last 25 years. He flat out refuses to learn. I even bought him some clip ones years ago. Never wore them.

    Sure do love him. Some day I’ll miss doing this for him. 81E222BA-B374-45A6-889B-B9816E55F655.jpeg

    Which is easier to do...”hang in there, JPM”, or for JPM to assist another?

    If you and I are climbing the Andes Mountains, and I am 100 feet above you when you lose your footing and are now hanging on by your fingernails. I hear you shout and see you struggling, “HANG IN THERE JPM! HANG ON!”

    Your forearms are burning, you’re getting tired. It seems as if help is taking an eternity. You consider giving up, but realize that you cannot. Suddenly, I grab your arm and pull you to safety.

    The media would portray me as a hero. But who actually did the hard job? My forearms don’t burn, my fingers didn’t elongate. You’re the one that did the tough job. The only way that I should be considered a hero is if you had given up and let go. THEN, I would have done the hard work, because you would have become dead weight when you decided to give up.

    But We don’t give up, do we?

    Luck in battle.

    No Sir not 65. That is identical to my dads VAC... same cast extendable front axle in front of the grill.

    That style of sheet metal was discontinued in 1951.
    1952 got a new style grill / hood / dash and the steering box was moved out to under the radiator.

    Notice the tractor you have pictured the steering box is under the dash, and tool box door is on left side.

    Is the serial number tag still on the dash by steering shaft? If it is tell me the first 2 numbers are and I can tell the year model.

    @ShooterK2

    Top and center pic is VAC14 Mr. Swann bought new in 1955. Notice the steering shaft goes through the dash, and down along left side of engine.

    Bottom pic is our VAI which is early model, notice difference in the grills?
