Well, I’ve been pondering swapping out for a 3rd gen manifold and turbo. Sure, I’d lose the engine brake, but that isn’t any real great concern if another potential fail point goes away with it.

Agreed. The air wipers had character, but sometimes character isn't helpful, and the intermittent part was a crap shoot. You could turn the air down, but depending on how much moisture there was, how fast you were going, which way the wind was blowing etc. had a lot to do with how intermittent it really was. And on mine, when you parked it, it's a wonder it didn't break right off as hard as it would park!

My first thoughts on air wipers when I bought my W900A were pretty much: "Well, these pieces of #### are the first thing going in the garbage pile"

Both my air motors are toast anyways. Full of engine oil (compressor's shot). Plus the threads for the mounting nut are stripped out on both. I'm definitely upgrading to electric.

I'll run over but they'll make me park my old junk down the street. Maybe I can park in the yard after dark.

Grab a case of yuengling and put it on my tab.... can't get it here.
