From bad on Monday......
....to "Well ####!!" on Tuesday.
Until a few months ago, "Extreme" was the highest fire danger rating. On our fire last March, the index they use to measure the rating was 3 times the extreme level. Anything over "60" was considered extreme. We were at "178" that day.
Anderson Creek, which was around Ashland in SW Kansas was almost as high.
They have now added "Catastrophic" to the list. "99-100" is the break over point between Extreme & Catastrophic.
